Ozone Launches Next-Gen Video Editor with Over $7 Million in Funding

Today is an exciting day here at Ozone. Ever since founding the company out of a dorm room at MIT, we’ve been looking forward to the day we could share our innovative, cloud-based, AI-powered video editing platform with all of you – that’s why we’re proud to announce our public beta launch to supercharge modern content creation. In addition, we’ve received $7 million+ in funding from Y Combinator, NEA, General Catalyst, LGVP, Bluewatch Ventures, Polymath Capital Partners, Pioneer Fund, SOMA Capital, Olive Tree Capital, as well as the founders of Dropbox, Tinder, and Lightricks, allowing us to grow and scale.

Video content creation has seen a meteoric rise over the past decade. Yet, video content creation workflows have largely revolved around complex user interfaces, painfully slow download and upload times, and menial button-clicking behind the editing process. Creators have often had to choose between tools like Adobe’s Premiere Pro that are hard to use, or web-based tools like Canva that are limited in terms of creative capabilities. As a result, creators and their teams spend too much time tediously editing and not enough time on the creative aspects of generating content. That’s where we come in.

At Ozone, we are building a platform to bring all of this under one roof. We’re on a mission to consolidate these fragmented processes into a unified, browser-based platform so users can seamlessly edit and collaborate on video projects. We combine next-gen cloud video streaming technologies and context-sensitive AI functionality to provide creators with tools that work with them – not against them.

Using our proprietary technology, users can easily upload footage to our browser-based platform, where AI automatically suggests edits to turn raw video into stylized and animated short-form content. We can identify action in video, generate subtitles, auto- enhances audio, and auto-animates titles. Unlike all-in-one text-to-video AI models, we empower users with rich customization options and precision timeline editing, all built upon a robust cloud infrastructure that ensures a seamless experience from idea to final export.

We firmly believe that in order to successfully serve a broad set of users, we need to build the large majority of core features found in traditional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut Pro. While other market entrants have focused on standalone buzzy GenAI features, we integrate AI with  existing tools and workflows that creators and marketers already have strong muscle memory with.
